Cast Resin DTTs are ideal for operation in environments with a humidity higher than 95 % as well as at temperatures down to -25 °C. DTTs are gaining popularity for application in extreme environments such as steel, cement, paper, chemical, thermal power plants etc. Owing to their natural advantages of low maintenance, the transformers are also ideal for use in crowded and urban areas, such as high-rise residential or commercial buildings.
The Epoxy casting process is critical in the manufacturing of Cast Resin Transformers. Twin’s Epoxy Casting Plant with Vacuum Chambers are trusted by leading transformer manufacturers to achieve optimum insulating and mechanical characteristics. Twin’s material preparation and Vacuum Casting technology is proven to deliver lowest partial discharge value as directed by the latest IEC norms.
Twin’s Vacuum Casting Plant is equipped with IR heaters to ensure that the mould temperatures accurately match the encapsulation temperature. The Resin Mix is prepared in separately and mixed just before the encapsulation process. Once the vacuum in the chamber reaches desired level the resin is poured into th emoulds. This ensures viscosity of the resin mix is very low to fill the small gaps in windings thus reaching lowest level of partial discharges. After the casting process, coils are placed into the curing oven which allows the resin gel to cure and achieve final mechanical properties.
