Challenges

The demand for cost-effective Cast Resin Transformers was growing and the client wanted to ramp-up the production capacity, to match the demand. The comparable solutions, to automate mixing and dispensing, offered mostly by European and Chinese companies, would have meant large investments.

With a key export order in hand, the Client wanted an economical system, that would meet his requirement of 500 to 600 Kg/shift, however, with an option to ramp-up the production to 1,000+ Kg as more orders came in.

Solutions

Conventional casting, with high labor costs, and risks in reliability of quality was never an option. Client met Twin’s team and understood the benefits of its Electrical Casting Machine, highly popular in the Indian market. Twin’s team suggested the highly innovative Combo system to automate mixing and dispensing. Further, the team designed a unique Vacuum Chamber, with a joystick controlled x-y tackle system for dispensing, and facility to cast 6 transformer cores at a time. The Vacuum Chamber was provided with IR heaters for accurate temperature control of the mould.

Custom designed forklift for loading and unloading of moulds ensured further ease and faster through-put.Twin offered a complete solution, with value added customisation, to significantly improve the productivity of client’s process.
